Dr. Schock joined Milliman with 15 years of pharmacy experience, including 10 years in managed care pharmacy, specifically with government programs. Her expertise spans formulary preferred drug list management, value based and supplemental rebate contracting, pharmacy operations, PBM and pharmacy point of sale systems, policy and legislation, and the pharmaceutical pipeline, including high-cost, specialty medications.
Dr. Schock supports payers, health plans, and Medicaid programs to understand the clinical and financial aspects of policy, formulary, and coverage decisions. Specifically, she devotes a significant portion of her time assessing and forecasting the landscape of emerging new cell and gene therapies and helps clients better understand opportunities to improve health care spend and clinical outcomes.
Prior to joining Milliman, Dr. Schock completed a post graduate year one (PGY-1) managed care pharmacy residency with a government-sponsored health plan specializing in Medicare and Medicaid. She also has experience working as the Preferred Drug List and Clinical Strategy Pharmacist for a state Medicaid program in the executive branch of government. There she supported a variety of work, focused on managing drug spend, pharmacy trend analysis, improving value and clinical outcomes, and ensuring evidence-based patient access to medications.
