Nick Dumbreck
Nick is a principal and consulting actuary with the London office of Milliman. Before joining Milliman in April 2009, he spent 23 years at Watson Wyatt, including seven years as head of the firm's global insurance consulting practice. He began his career at Imperial Life of Canada.
Experience
Nick advises life assurance clients on a wide range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions and financial management. He has been heavily involved in the restructuring of the UK life industry over the past 15 years, including advising Standard Life on its demutualisation and flotation and acting as independent expert for Aviva's inherited estate reattribution.
Nick has been appointed actuary to several life companies in the UK and Ireland, notably HSBC Life UK and Halifax Life, and is currently actuarial function holder for one UK life company.
International experience includes IPOs in China and Hong Kong, advice to OSFI on the programme of demutualisations in Canada, and involvement in transactions in Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Greece, Japan, South Africa, and the Caribbean.Education
