How can we transition critical middle- and back-office services to a new supplier whilst maintaining business continuity?

A major UK asset manager needed to outsource its middle-office and fund services to a new provider whilst ensuring day-to-day operations weren’t disrupted. At the same time, the business wanted to redesign its target operating model so it could operate more efficiently after the lift-out. The challenge was to manage a complex transition whilst reducing operational risk and creating a stronger long-term operating model.

The team led supplier mobilisation and programme governance, ensuring delivery remained aligned with the agreed commercial terms throughout the transition. We designed the future-state target operating model, developed the transition roadmap and managed the programme from initial planning through implementation. By coordinating stakeholders, governance and delivery activities, we helped the client complete the lift-out with confidence whilst maintaining operational stability.

The client successfully completed the lift-out within seven months whilst maintaining operational continuity. The new operating model reduced ongoing operating costs, introduced clearer governance under the outsourced supplier model and minimised operational risk throughout the migration.
