How can we build a credible change capability that improves delivery and helps the business turn its growth priorities into action?

The organisation’s reputation for under-delivering on change initiatives had created a need to strengthen both its capability and confidence in delivering transformation.

The business needed a more structured approach to prioritising and governing change, alongside the skills and expertise required to understand business needs and deliver initiatives effectively. A key objective was to establish a function that could demonstrate tangible improvements whilst becoming a trusted ally to business areas.

THE APPROACH

Creating a dedicated change function with the capability to deliver

We created a change function reporting directly to the COO, bringing together project management, business analysis and testing capabilities within a single team.

To build sustainable capability, we developed training plans for team members and sponsored professional accreditation, strengthening the function’s skills and delivery expertise.

We also aligned individuals to specific business areas, enabling the team to develop a deeper understanding of business priorities and needs, and establish stronger relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

THE OUTCOME

A trusted change function with stronger governance and business engagement

The organisation established a prioritised portfolio of change initiatives, supported by a new governance forum chaired by the CEO. This created greater executive focus on delivery and ensured that change activity was aligned with business priorities.

Business areas became more actively engaged with the change function, working collaboratively to identify and deliver the initiatives needed to support growth. The organisation also established a stronger internal capability and a more structured foundation for delivering change in the future.
