To ensure a smooth acceptance process, we work closely with the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the senior management of both the transferring and receiving companies, and legal and technical advisers. • Board support – We have considerable experience assisting boards of directors in understanding a variety of complex issues. In particular, we have a longstanding relationship with the FSA and detailed knowledge of its expectations for a wide range of requirements.
• Peer review – Our assignments have included providing an independent opinion as an expert where regulations require it, as well as peer reviews done simply at the client's request.
• Monitoring actuary – When demutualisation gives rise to a supervisory committee, we act for clients as a monitoring actuary, working to ensure that appropriate schemes continue to operate correctly and that policyholders are treated fairly.
• Expert witness and arbitration – We are frequently called upon to serve as expert witnesses during litigation of all types and offer support when clients are engaged in arbitration proceedings.
